Malcolme Tunstall and his dad Sydney, pose for a photo with Castrol’s Walter Von Schoenfeld after Malcolme won the Lightweight class at the 1984 Daytona International Vintage Classic. Sydney was the Syd of Syd’s Cycles in St. Petersburg, Florida. Sydney, a former racer himself, built the bikes that Malcolme raced and won on. Walter and Castrol were early supporters of vintage racing. Walter was also one of the original founders of the AAMRR club road racing organization in the early 1960s. (Gary Van Voorhis photo)

Thanks for that photo. I have fond memories of Syd and Walter and still see Malcolme regularly at the races where he’s supporting his son. I was dicing in that ’84 Lightweight vintage race with Malcolme and I believe John Long until the carb fell off the H-D ERTT that I’m still racing today.
Tony, I loved Bridgehampton. I figured out how to do turn one down the hill flat out. BMW R90S. A friend of mine told me how sideways I was doing this. Like flat tracking.
