Kirk Leads Road America Supersport Battle (1992)

Rick Kirk (No. 21), on the Two Brothers Honda, leads coming out of turn five, early in the Road America AMA 600cc Supersport Series race in June of 1992. It was an intense battle, as 600 Supersport races usually were in those days. Randy Renfrow (No. 76) runs second, just ahead of Steve Crevier (No. 16 Two Brothers Honda) and Tom Kipp (No. 4 Camel Honda). I think that’s David Sadowski on a Yoshimura Suzuki behind Kipp. Then comes Larry Schwartzbach (No. 7 Vance & Hines Yamaha) and Jim Leslie (No. 13 Harry’s Machine Shop Honda). I think No. 83 is Brett Harrelson (brother of actor Woody Harrelson) and I’m not sure who that is on bike #50. Kipp moved his way to the front to win this race over Crevier and Renfrow. Schwarzbach and Sadowski rounded out the top five. Kirk dropped to sixth at the finish. (Henny Ray Abrams photo)
