That’s Kawasaki’s Terry Clark (No. 27) leading the group into the first turn. Coming up on the far inside line is Gary Semics (No. 5) on another factory Kawasaki. Honda’s Tommy Croft (No. 16) has a good line. Next to Tommy is a rider on a Penton. Then Husqvarna mounted Pat Moroney (No. 80), Rex Staten (No. 31) on the factory Harley-Davidson and then Billy Grossi on his factory Suzuki. Marty Smith won the national that day.
